Jen Gillean
Jenβs background is in Education (BEd), Yoga Therapy, and Clinical Herbalism, along with advanced training in birth, bereavement, and trauma-informed care. She has been offering peer based support groups for 12 years and currently works at the charity Home Hospice Association where she manages the Pre & Perinatal Hospice Program to bring more supports to those who have experienced Pregnancy & Infant Loss. Jen has created and is a lead teacher in their Pregnancy & Infant Loss Community Support Specialist Training (launching this spring!).
She also works with clients privately and offers small group classes/workshops through @inthemomentwithjen . As a yoga therapist supporting individuals in reconnecting with their bodies and relationships through grief & trauma-informed, embodiment practices. Her client work focuses on intimacy after birth, sexual wellbeing, pelvic and birth trauma recovery, nervous system regulation, and emotional healing.
As an Orphan Wisdom Scholar, Full Spectrum Doula, Birthing from Within Facilitator, and Morning Altars Practitioner, she weaves ritual, storytelling, plant medicine, and somatic tools to help people feel safe in their bodies and rebuild trust in themselves β particularly those healing from sexual, birth, and persistent pelvic pain experiences.

Emma Fernando
Meet Emma.
Emma received a Practical Nursing Diploma from Algonquin College and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Ottawa. As a second generation Canadian, woman of colour, and health care professional with a past trauma history she has lived experience navigating challenges unique to her journey and finding balance in her day-to-day life. She has worked in various positions in university, hospital and community settings in and around Ottawa providing direct patient care, mentorship, education and counselling. Emma's personal experiences have led her on a path to help others who are seeking support and resources around fertility, loss, perinatal experiences and mental health. Emma currently works as Registered Nurse at the Ottawa Hospital and is the owner of Indigo Care, an independent Registered Nurse Psychotherapy practice, providing mental health support including psychotherapy, counselling, education and resources for those who are struggling with their reproductive and perinatal journey.
